PIMSLEUR eGIFT CERTIFICATES
eGift Certificates make giving the gift of language easy. Available in multiple denominations, they can be purchased online at Pimsleur.com and sent to anyone with a valid email address. If the recipient resides in the United States, the eGift Certificate is valid for any digital or physical product available on Pimsleur.com, except subscriptions. If the recipient resides outside of the United States, the eGift Certificate is valid on digital products only.
GIFTING A DIGITAL OR PHYSICAL (U.S.-only) COURSE
Once you add a product to your cart, and start the checkout process, you'll have the option to mark any product as a GIFT and select a recipient.
For digital gifts, we’ll ask you to provide the giftee's email and you can write a custom message. We’ll notify the recipient by email along with instructions to retrieve their course.
For CDs (U.S.-only), we’ll ask you to provide the name and address of the recipient, along with a personal message if you wish. We’ll ship directly to them at the address you provide.

How do I redeem a discount code?
Promo codes let you get a special discount on a digital or CD purchase. Enter the code in the Promo Code box which displays as you check out. Codes may only be used once per transaction, and they cannot be used if they have expired. Discount codes may not be used for eGift Certificates or Subscriptions, and you will need to pay sales taxes where applicable. How do I subscribe to a Pimsleur Course?
You must create a Pimsleur account to subscribe. You can subscribe to Pimsleur Language Programs courses, here. Subscriptions are also available through Apple or Google Play via in-app purchases through the Pimsleur Language Learning App. For more information on the iOS version of the app, go here. How do I manage my subscriptions if I purchased on iTunes or through the App Store?
To manage subscriptions purchased on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, go to Settings on your device, then go to iTunes & App Store and click on your Apple ID. You’ll be asked to enter your Apple ID. From there, click on Subscriptions to view, change or cancel your subscription.
On your mac or PC, go to iTunes and sign in with your Apple ID or Touch ID. Click on the Account tab at the top, then select View my Account. Scroll to the Settings section, then click on the Manage link to the right of Subscriptions. Note that if you’re using Family Sharing, only your family organizer can update payment information. How do I use the digital courses?
All of Pimsleur’s audio courses can be streamed using the Pimsleur Language Learning app on mobile or desktop. The mobile version is available for free download from the App Stores for both iOS and Android devices. It features a hands-free driving mode and allows users to download lessons for offline use inside the app.
A desktop version is also available at Pimsleur.com. Either can be used to play audio or reading lessons. Progress is synched between devices including Amazon Echo devices.
Do I need to be connected to the Internet to play my Pimsleur lessons?
You’ll need a connection to access the App from Apple or Google Play, and to download lessons to your mobile device. Once those are downloaded, they will be available offline, otherwise, courses are streaming and you need an internet connection. For the browser / desktop version, a Wi-Fi or broadband connection is required, and downloading inside the app is not available.
What devices is my Pimsleur course compatible with?
The Pimsleur Language Learning App is designed to work on most MAC and PC computers (optimized for Chrome, Firefox, and Safari browsers), and on most smartphones (iOS 11 or greater, Android 7 or greater and with 1280 X 720 or larger screen). The download feature is not available for Subscription customers. The audio course is also available using Amazon Echo players (Alexa, play Pimsleur!). Premium features are only available using the Pimsleur app.
Can I use my course on multiple devices?
Yes, as long as they are for your personal use.
Can I share my course with others?
A registered user can share a Premium course with up to three family members so it’s easy to learn together. Progress is tracked separately for each sub-user.
What about Reading Lessons? Does my digital course include a booklet?
Reading Lessons show up in the app with the audio lessons they’re included with, and the Reading items are displayed along with the audio. Premium lets you scroll through item by item, and the audio-only course displays the booklet as a PDF with audio sync for each lesson. You can also access PDF versions of all Reading booklets from our site by going here.
After I purchase my course, when do I get it?
If you're on a mobile device, once you purchase or subscribe to your course and download the app, it will be available for streaming immediately. For the desktop version, just click on the LAUNCH MY COURSE link at the top right of the Pimsleur.com home page.
Where can I see my list of digital courses?
If you purchased or subscribed to your course from Pimsleur.com, it will be listed in your Order History on My Account on Pimsleur.com.
If you purchased or subscribed to the course via in-app purchasing, you’ll need to go to Apple or Google Play app stores to manage your library.
Can I download lessons?
The mobile app (available through the Apple and Google Play app stores) allows you to download lessons for offline use, and then remove them once completed to save space. The browser version of the app offers streaming only. Both work best with a strong cellular, Wi-Fi, or broadband connection.
Customers who have purchased a digital course from Pimsleur.com are able to download MP3 versions of the audio lessons. To do this, go to your Order History and click on an individual order. From there you’ll be able to download files for use on any device that plays audio (MP3) files. Note that these files are for audio lessons only. For Premium features, you must use the Pimsleur app. This feature is not available for Subscription customers.
Does Pimsleur still sell CDs?
Yes. To see a listing go to the All Products link listed with each language.
What if I have additional questions or need help getting the course onto my device?

What is your refund policy for digital courses? What if I can't get the course to play?
Once you purchase your digital course, we are unable to provide a refund. If for any reason you have trouble accessing it please contact Pimsleur Customer Service, and we will assist you in any way posible.
If I have a problem with my credit card transaction or other billing issue, how can I get it resolved quickly?
If for any reason you have trouble purchasing a course, if your card is not accepted, or if there is a billing problem that needs to be resolved, please contact Pimsleur Customer Service, and we will assist you. We are committed to resolving your issue as quickly as possible.
USING THE PIMSLEUR LANGUAGE LEARNING APP
I’m in My Library on Pimsleur.com, but how do I get my course?
Pimsleur Language Learning App (Mobile) - Install the app from your favorite App Store, then log in using your Pimsleur.com account credentials. Your course should load and sync automatically. Just click on the PLAY button to begin streaming. If you’ve purchased or subscribed to more than one course, use the Library, accessible by clicking on (☰) at the top right corner, to select a course.
Amazon Echo Devices - Activate the Pimsleur Skill from the Alexa App on your mobile device, then log in using your Pimsleur.com account credentials. Tell Alexa to “Play my Pimsleur Course.” Then say, “My Course,” and the lesson will start right where you left off in the app. If you have multiple users in your account, you’ll need to select a user number (1-4).
MAC or PC Desktop – Click on LAUNCH MY COURSE at the top right of the Pimsleur.com homepage, or click on the link in your confirmation email. You can also log into My Account on Pimsleur.com and access the course from there.
Pimsleur Audio vs. Pimsleur Premium
The Pimsleur Language Learning App streams your daily audio and Reading Lessons, and it’ll keep track of where you are on whatever device you use. It’s available for all of our languages. The mobile version, available from the app stores features a hands-free driving mode, and allows you to download audio lessons for offline use. It will sync with Amazon Echo devices using our new Pimsleur Alexa Skill, so you can easily play lessons at home as well.
Pimsleur Premium adds review components (see list that follows) to help you get the most out of your course. Premium versions are currently available for: Spanish (Latin American), French, Italian, German, Chinese Mandarin, Russian, Japanese, Portuguese (Brazilian), Norwegian, Korean, Tagalog, and English for Spanish speakers.

The Skills tab lets you see everything you’ve learned so far in the audio lessons broken down by Skills categories. The list of sentences you’ve “earned” will grow as you complete each day’s lessons.
The Practice tab gives you a quick practice session that pulls from all the lessons you’ve completed so far. You get a blast of 12 flash cards, 12 quiz items and a conversation. You never know which conversation you’ll get, so it keeps you on your toes. Speed Round will pull vocabulary from all the lessons you’ve learned to date, so it will challenge and delight you. You’ll be amazed at how quickly you’ll start responding without thinking!
Manage your courses from the main menu at the top of the screen. All your courses are available from the Library. You can also see Activation information, check your settings, get set up with Alexa, and see all our customer service contacts and legal terms from the app in this section.
AMAZON ALEXA SKILL
How do I get the Pimsleur Skill on my Alexa?
Once your Echo device is connected to Wi-Fi, go to the Skills page in your Alexa App and search for Pimsleur. The Pimsleur Skill page will appear. Click on Enable to add the Pimsleur Skill to your account.
You’ll be asked to log in to your Pimsleur account, or create a new account.
How do I talk to Alexa?
If you’ve used Alexa for other Skills, you’ll probably be familiar with the best ways to talk to her, but if not, here’s a list phrases to get you started:

How do I start a lesson?
Alexa will tell you which language, level and lesson you last played either with your Echo, or in your app, and ask if you want to Continue, or you can say pick which Level and which Lesson. Either say, “Continue” or “Pick Level X, Lesson X.”
How do I switch languages?
At present you cannot switch languages inside the Pimsleur Skill, however you can switch between Levels of a single language. To switch languages, go into your Pimsleur app, and open your Library from the menu at the top of the page.
What’s a User Name?
If you have more than one user on your Pimsleur app, you'll need to tell Alexa which user you are. Look at your Alexa app on your mobile device, and choose a user number. The main account holder is User 1.
How do I navigate and control my Echo device?
The Pimsleur Skill works just like any other Alexa Skill, with commands common to all. Here are a few common ones:

Pimsleur Premium is designed for use by one registered user, plus up to three household members, and may be installed on unlimited devices for your personal use.
To reset your password, click on the "Forgot Password" link on the sign in screen in the app. You’ll be asked to enter the email address you used to register the account so we can send you a link to reset it. If you no longer have access to the email you used to register the account, please contact Customer Service for assistance.

FLEXIPAY INSTALLMENT PLAN OPTION
FlexiPay is a 0% APR and no interest payment plan and an easy way to divide your purchase into three low monthly payments at no extra charge. This is an installment billing plan where equal payments are made on your credit or debit card in accordance with the below schedule, rather than the whole amount being charged upfront. If you elect to pay via FlexiPay, the total purchase price plus any applicable shipping and tax will be charged in three equal installments. The first payment will be charged at the time the order is placed. Thereafter, your account will be charged by Pimsleur approximately every 30 days for the remaining number of payments with 0% APR and no interest in accordance with the following schedule:
1st Payment: 1/3 of the total sale; billed on your credit or debit card at the time of order
2nd Payment: 1/3 of the total sale; billed on your credit or debit card approximately 30 days after sale
3rd Payment: 1/3 of the total sale; billed on your credit or debit card approximately 60 days after sale
The FlexiPay Installment Plan is made available on select purchases only. Minimum purchase requirements (after application of promotional discounts) may apply. By proceeding with the FlexiPay Installment Plan, you agree that you will keep enough credit available on the credit or debit card you have provided so future installments can be billed to that card. If the card expires or is cancelled, you agree to notify Pimsleur and supply an alternative card with the necessary funds available before the next payment is due. Failure to have the necessary funds may result in discontinuance of your access to the Pimsleur digital product purchased under the FlexiPay Installment Plan.
In the event you fail to make a payment under the FlexiPay Installment Plan, you agree to pay all costs related to the collection of the outstanding balance of the purchase price, including, without limitation, reasonable legal fees, costs associated with the engagement of a third party collection agency (including any percentage charged by the debt collection agency for the collection of the balance of the purchase price) and all other expenses and collection costs resulting from your default.
The FlexiPay Installment Plan is available only on select purchases and for customers with a billing address in the United States, excluding customers with a billing address in the state of Florida.
Appropriate sales tax is calculated during the checkout process and is based on existing local, state, and federal laws. Any taxes imposed will be specified in your cart prior to submitting your order. For physical shipments sales tax is charged based on the applicable rates at the ship-to zip code; for digital downloads it is charged according to the bill-to zip code.

UPDATING ACCOUNT INFORMATION
To update your account information, click on the Your Account link located at the top of each page on Pimsleur.com. There you will have the option to modify your name, password, communication preferences, address book, and credit card information.
During the checkout process, you will be able to select your preferred shipping option. The cost for any expedited methods you have chosen will be calculated for you and displayed for your approval.
There is never a shipping charge for Pimsleur MP3 downloads, which can be delivered worldwide.
There is no charge for standard shipping of physical (CDs and software) Pimsleur products in the contiguous U.S. Delivery to PO Boxes is only available for standard shipping within the contiguous U.S. For shipments to Alaska or Hawaii, select Express or Expedited shipping. We do not ship physical Pimsleur products outside of the United States. Digital downloads are available worldwide.

The delivery time frame will vary based on the shipping option you have chosen during the checkout process:
Free/Standard: Orders ship within 1 business day and should arrive within 4 - 5 business days of order date. (Your item will ship from our warehouse in New Jersey.)
Express: - Average delivery is 2 – 3 days, but can take up to 5 days for some locations such as Alaska.
Expedited: Orders placed before 9:30 am EST ship the same day. Average delivery is 1 – 2 business days, but can take up to 5 business days for locations such as Alaska.
Pimsleur digital courses cannot be returned for credit or refund.
Once you purchase and begin to download your course, we are unable to provide a refund. If for any reason you have trouble downloading, please contact Pimsleur Customer Service, and we will arrange an alternate method for you to receive your purchase.
We will refund on returns of your CD purchase if you:
Return unopened products in their original condition.
Include your packing slip or invoice, and return Pimsleur.com purchases (Pimsleur Language Programs) within 90 days of the shipment date listed on your packing slip.

Original shipment charges are not refundable.
Please ship returns by traceable, insured means along with the original packing slip or invoice.
You are responsible for all costs associated with return shipment.
Returns made to Pimsleur.com will be refunded in the same form as the original payment.
The credit for your return will be applied to the credit card used to make the purchase.
It may take up to two credit card billing cycles for the credit to appear on your statement.
Refunds cannot be made for items returned to us more than 90 days after original shipment date.
Exchanges can only be made for damaged goods or incorrect shipments.

GENERAL PIMSLEUR Q&A
I already know some of the language I intend to learn. Can I start at Level 2 or higher?
The Pimsleur courses are designed to be used in order starting with the first lesson. Each successive level and lesson builds on the teachings of the previous ones. In most cases, it is recommended you start with Level 1. If you wish to start at a higher level, please contact our Customer Service team for assistance. When do I do the Reading Lessons?
Depending on the course, you may choose to do the Readings along with the audio units after every few lessons, or you may want to wait and do them all together, after completing the entire course. Feel free to repeat the Reading Lessons as often as needed. Some courses include Culture Notes in place of Reading Lessons.
How do the Reading Lessons work?
The Reading exercises use a phonetic approach. We start by introducing you to the most common sounds and sound-combinations of the new alphabet. (And remember, just because the letters look the same as English, doesn’t mean they’re pronounced the same.) You will progress from sound / symbol correlation in Level 1, to reading for meaning in successive levels.
Can I obtain a transcript of the course?
We don’t offer transcripts, but not because they’re a deep dark secret. Dr. Pimsleur's research found that the fastest way to truly learn a new language was by listening to, and being asked to recall a new word or phrase. Those who tried to write while this was happening were far less able to recall the material they were learning. They were also less able to use it “on the fly” in actual conversations. So even though it may seem counter-intuitive, we strongly recommend that you don’t take notes or look things up while doing your Pimsleur course. Relax and let your brain do the work it was designed to do. For courses that offer a Premium version, we make flash cards, quiz and other practice elements that let you see the words and sentences written down, but we don’t recommend you use these Review components until after you’ve completed the daily audio lesson.
How many words will I learn in each new course?
Depending on the language and level, each 30-lesson course will teach between 300 and 500 new vocabulary items. However, the goal of the Pimsleur programs is not to teach as many disjointed vocabulary words as possible, but to allow you to use and manipulate the language, to understand the structure, and to be able to construct your own sentences. Once you’ve got the structures down and have mastered a basic vocabulary, adding new words and structures becomes natural and easy.
