Account

 

How do I subscribe or cancel a subscription?

Subscribing is available on Pimsleur.com in the US, Canada, Australia and United Kingdom by clicking, here. You must create a Pimsleur account to subscribe.

Consumers in other countries may also subscribe through Apple or Google Play via in-app purchases through the Pimsleur Mobile app. For more information on the iOS version of the app, go here. For more information on the Android version of the app, go here.

Cancelling your subscription depends on your point of purchase:

  • If you subscribed online through the Pimsleur website, you can easily cancel your subscription at any time by logging in to your account at https://accounts.pimsleur.com/home or contacting us at (800) 578-8284, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
  • If you subscribed through an Apple in-app purchase, please follow the instructions provided by Apple regarding cancellation of subscriptions. Without limiting the foregoing, we have found that the following works for most uses. You can manage your subscriptions purchased on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch by opening the Settings app, tapping your name, then tapping Subscriptions. (If you don't see "Subscriptions," tap "iTunes & App Store" instead. Then tap your Apple ID, tap View Apple ID, sign in, scroll down to Subscriptions, and tap Subscriptions.). From there, click on Subscriptions to view, change or cancel your subscription. Alternatively, on your Mac, open the App Store app, click the sign-in button or your name at the bottom of the sidebar, and click View Information at the top of the window. On the page that appears, scroll until you see Subscriptions, then click Manage. Click Edit next to the subscription name. Detailed instructions are available here at https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202039. If you're on a Windows computer or have yet to update to Catalina on Mac, you can also cancel subscriptions in iTunes. Open the app, then click Account > View My Account and sign in with your Apple ID if you're not already signed in. Scroll to the bottom of the Account Information screen to the Settings section. Click on the Manage link next to Subscriptions.
  • If you subscribed through a Google Play in-app purchase, please follow the instructions provided by Google Play regarding cancellation of subscriptions. Without limiting the foregoing, we have found that the following works for most users. Open the Google Play Store app on your Android phone or tablet, make sure you’re signed in to the correct Google Account, tap Menu and then Subscriptions. Select the subscription you want to cancel, tap Cancel subscription and follow the instructions. You can also manage and cancel your subscription through Google Play website by clicking here.

 

Updating Account Information

To update your account information, click on the Your Account link located at the top of each page on Pimsleur.com. There you will have the option to modify your name, password, communication preferences, address book, and credit card information.

 

How Do I Switch Subscription Languages?

Each subscription is valid for access to all lessons in a single language. If you wish to switch languages, you’ll first need to cancel your current subscription, and subscribe to the new language. You can also have two active Subscriptions at the same time if you’re feeling like an adventurous polyglot learner.

 

Upgrading to Premium

If you are subscribed to an Audio-Only course and wish to upgrade to Premium, you’ll first need to cancel your current subscription plan and subscribe to a new Premium plan. 

If you purchased an Audio-Only course and wish to upgrade, you can do so in the Pimsleur app by clicking on a locked Premium feature.

 


Technical Questions

 

Using Pimsleur on my phone

If you own an Android or iOS phone, we recommend using the Pimsleur mobile app for iOS or Android for the best performance and to access all features.

Once you’ve installed the app, log in using your Pimsleur.com account credentials. Your course will load and sync automatically. Just click on the PLAY button to begin streaming. If you’ve purchased or subscribed to more than one course, use the Library, accessible by clicking on (☰) at the top right corner, to select a course.

 

Using Pimsleur on my computer

The Pimsleur desktop web-based app allows you to use your course and all its features through any desktop or laptop using your favorite browser. We recommend using the latest version of Chrome, Firefox, or Safari. To get started with the desktop web-based app, log in with your account credentials at https://learn.pimsleur.com or by clicking “Launch My Course” at the top of any page on Pimsleur.com.
[Your course is available from any connected desktop or laptop computer using your favorite browser. Simply go to Pimsleur.com and click on Launch My Course at the top of the page. Log in using the same email you used to purchase the course, and you’re ready to go.  We recommend you have [a good internet connection, and] the latest version of your browser installed.]

 

Using Pimsleur on Amazon Echo devices

Once your Echo device is connected to Wi-Fi, go to the Skills page in your Alexa App and search for Pimsleur. The Pimsleur Skill page will appear. Click on Enable to add the Pimsleur Skill to your account, then log in using your Pimsleur.com account credentials. Tell Alexa to “Play my Pimsleur Course.” Then say, “My Course,” and the lesson will start right where you left off in the app. If you have multiple users in your account, you’ll need to select a user number (1-4).

How do I talk to Alexa?

If you’ve used Alexa for other Skills, you’ll probably be familiar with the best ways to talk to her, but if not, here’s a list phrases to get you started:

  • Just say, "Pimsleur," or ...

  • Alexa, Launch Pimsleur

How do I start a Pimsleur lesson with Alexa?

Alexa will tell you which language, level and lesson you last played on your Echo device or in your app, and ask if you want to Continue. Confirm by saying “Continue.” Alternately, you can select a new Level and Lesson by saying, “Pick Level X, Lesson X.

 

How do I switch languages with Alexa?

At present you cannot switch languages inside the Pimsleur Skill, however you can switch between Levels of a single language. To switch languages, you first need to go into your Pimsleur app on your mobile device, and open your Library from the menu at the top of the page.

 

What’s a Username with Alexa?

If you have more than one user on your Pimsleur app, you'll need to tell Alexa which user you are. Look at your Alexa app on your mobile device, and choose a user number. The main account holder is User 1.

 

How do I navigate and control my Echo device?

The Pimsleur Skill works just like any other Alexa Skill, with commands common to all. Here are a few common ones:

  • Alexa, Go back / Go back to the prior lesson [Alexa confirms]
  • Alexa, Skip back / Go back to the prior lesson [Alexa confirms]
  • Alexa, Go forward / Go forward to the next lesson [Alexa confirms]
  • Alexa, Skip / Go forward to the next lesson [Alexa confirms]
  • Alexa, Pause / Pauses the current lesson
  • Alexa, Restart / Goes to the beginning of the current lesson
  • Alexa, Louder / Turns up the playback volume
  • Alexa, Stop / Turns off the Skill. Note this command requires user to restart.
  • Alexa, Quieter / Turns the playback volume down.

 

How Do I Sync Progress Between my Devices?

You don’t need to worry about syncing your progress. We do that automatically when you use the Pimsleur mobile app, Pimsleur web-based app, or the Pimsleur Skill for Amazon Echo devices. Your course progress is maintained seamlessly across devices.

 

Can I share my course with others?

A registered user can share a Premium course with up to three family members so it’s easy to learn together. Progress is tracked separately for each sub-user with Premium.

Each additional user will use the same email address and password to sign into the program. The person you wish to share the course with will need to install the application on their own device (or share the device you are currently using), they can also use the web-based app at https://learn.pimsleur.com

There are two ways to add a user, the first is through the app. Once you have the app opened, select the Menu  (☰) at the top right corner. Under Settings, select Users to see a list of users and add a new one. If you’re using the web version, Launch My Course, and log in. At the top right of the home page you’ll see “Hi,” and your first name.  Click on that, and select User Management to add a new user.

 

What should I do if I can’t login?

Double-check that you’re using the right username and password. If you created your account using an email address and password, you cannot log in later with Facebook or another social login. 

 

Forgotten Password

To reset your password, click on the Forgot Password link on the sign-in screen in the app. You’ll be asked to enter the email address you used to register the account so we can send you a link to reset it. If you no longer have access to the email you used to register the account, please contact Customer Service for assistance.

I’m in My Library on Pimsleur.com, but how do I get my course?

Pimsleur Language Learning App (Mobile) - Install the app from your favorite App Store, then log in using your Pimsleur.com account credentials. Your course should load and sync automatically. Just click on the PLAY button to begin streaming. If you’ve purchased or subscribed to more than one course, use the Library, accessible by clicking on (☰) at the top right corner, to select a course.

Amazon Echo Devices - Activate the Pimsleur Skill from the Alexa App on your mobile device, then log in using your Pimsleur.com account credentials. Tell Alexa to “Play my Pimsleur Course.” Then say, “My Course,” and the lesson will start  where you left off in the app. If you have multiple users in your account, you’ll need to select a user number (1-4).

MAC or PC Computer – Click on LAUNCH MY COURSE at the top right of the Pimsleur.com homepage, or click on the link in your confirmation email. You can also log into My Account on Pimsleur.com and access the course from there.

 

Can I download lessons?

The mobile app (available through the Apple and Google Play app stores) allows you to download lessons for offline use, and then remove them once completed to save space. The browser version of the app offers streaming only. Both work best with a strong cellular, Wi-Fi, or broadband connection.

Customers who have purchased a digital course from Pimsleur.com are able to download MP3 versions of the audio lessons. To do this, go to My Account on Pimsleur.com, log in and then access Order History and click on an individual order. From there you’ll be able to download files for use on any device that plays audio (MP3) files. Note that these files are for audio lessons only. For Premium features, you must use the Pimsleur app. This feature is not available for Subscription customers.

How to Use Pimsleur

 

Conversational Lessons

Each conversational lesson is 30 minutes long and is focused on developing your listening and speaking skills. It is recommended to do one lesson per day (you can break it up into several sittings if needed) and to avoid referring to outside materials or taking notes. The course is especially designed to help you master the rhythm, cadence, and sounds of your new language. These skills can only be developed aurally and relying on outside materials or taking notes will only slow down and limit your ability to develop those essential skills. If you want to be successful at conversation in your new language, it is very important to put in this work. These skills cannot be mastered by matching images and words on a screen or reading textbooks.

 

Reading Lessons

The Reading Lessons are a separate part of the course that teaches reading skills through a phonetic approach developed by Dr. Pimsleur. The lessons teach the sounds of individual letters and how letters combine to form new sounds. As you progress through these reading lessons and master this phonetic approach, you will then start to read for meaning. The Reading Lessons do not teach you to read the same words and phrases you are learning in the conversational lessons, but instead give you a new way to process the language. Combining these two approaches into one program gives you the ability to develop a nuanced understanding of your new language.  

 

Premium Features

Premium versions add enhanced features to help you review course content and get an even deeper understanding of the language. They include:

Pimsleur Transcripts

We don’t offer transcripts, but not because they’re a deep dark secret. Dr. Pimsleur's research found that the fastest way to truly learn a new language was by listening to, and being asked to recall a new word or phrase from memory. Those who tried to write while this was happening were far less able to recall the material they were learning. They were also less able to use it “on the fly” in actual conversations. 

So even though it may seem counter-intuitive, we strongly recommend that you don’t take notes or look things up while doing your Pimsleur course. Relax and let your brain do the work it was designed to do. For courses that offer a Premium version, we make flashcards, quiz, interactive conversation transcript game and other practice elements that let you see the words and sentences written down, but we don’t recommend you use these review components until after you’ve completed the daily audio lesson.

Can I skip the beginning of the course?

Officially we don’t recommend that anyone start at anything other than lesson 1 of Level 1. However, the programs are designed for someone with no experience in the language, and you are the only one that can tell what level is the best fit. If you would like to try starting with a different level, we recommend trying the first lesson of level 2. Unless you are able to do this lesson with 100% accuracy, you should start with a previous level, even if the vocabulary is largely known. The words and structures are essential and assumed to be known. There are very few basic structures taught in levels 2 & above so what is taught in previous levels is essential to your progress. 

 

Completing Level 1 can also be really useful when it comes to refining your pronunciation (accent). If you feel like or have been told that your pronunciation is not where it should be, Pimsleur will help, but we recommend you start with Level 1 in that case.

 

Do I need to be connected to the Internet to play my Pimsleur lessons?

You’ll need a connection to access the App from Apple or Google Play, and to download lessons to your mobile device for offline use. Once those are downloaded, they will be available offline inside the app, otherwise, courses are streaming and you need an internet connection. For the browser / desktop version, a Wi-Fi or broadband connection is required, and downloading inside the app is not available.

A Pimsleur subscription offer gives you access to ALL the lessons in any single language for one low periodic charge. During your subscription you will have access to as many levels of a course as are available, for a low price that is charged monthly to your credit card.
 

Pimsleur Audio vs. Pimsleur Premium

The Pimsleur mobile app and the desktop web-based app allow you to play your daily Conversational Lessons and Reading Lessons, and it’ll keep track of where you are on whatever device you use. This Audio-Only format is available for all of our languages. The Pimsleur mobile app, available from the app stores, features a hands-free driving mode, and allows you to download audio lessons for offline use inside the app. It also  syncs with Amazon Echo devices using our new Pimsleur Alexa Skill, so you can easily play lessons at home as well. The web-based app can be accessed from any desktop or laptop device using a recommended browser such as Chrome, Firefox, or Safari.

The Premium format adds interactive tools to help you review course content and get in deeper with the written language. Premium versions are currently available for: Spanish (Latin American), French, Italian, German, Chinese Mandarin, Russian, Japanese, Portuguese (Brazilian), Eastern Arabic, Modern Standard Arabic, Norwegian, Korean, Tagalog, and English for Spanish speakers.

 

The Premium version helps you learn and practice:

The Learn tab starts you off right from the Home page as you work through your audio and Reading Lessons. Once you’ve completed each day’s lessons, you can enjoy drilling down and quizzing yourself with practice elements for every kind of learner.  Premium practice elements include: 

  • Digital Flashcards (cued in native language, or flip the script and cue yourself in the target language),
  • Quick Match quiz, lets you see structures you’ve heard and test your memory at the same time
  • Speak Easy interactive conversation transcripts to practice pronunciation, cadence and rhythm,
  • Skills categories breaks out each lesson’s sentences by topic, and lets you quiz yourself to test your progress
  • Speed Round lets you really challenge yourself on the vocabulary you’ve learned.

 

The Skills tab lets you see everything you’ve learned so far in the conversational audio lessons broken down by topics. The list of sentences you’ve “earned” will grow as you complete each day’s lessons. Add tough sentences to your Saved Vocabulary list if you want to give them some extra focus.

The Practice tab lets you work with content from all the lessons you’ve completed so far. Use the lesson selector to load individual lesson content, or select several or all completed lessons for all the flashcards, quiz items or Speed Round you can handle. Work your way through the Speak Easy conversations at your own pace.  Once you’ve finished all the audio lessons, you can load hundreds of flash cards, and you can use them as often as you like. You’ll be amazed at how quickly you’ll start responding without thinking!

The Me tab is where you can create your personal vocabulary and sentence list from Skills, flash cards or bonus cards. Use it to focus your practice, or quickly recall the phrases you need for a particular situation. Each item in the alphabetical list displays the word in your new language and lets you hear native speakers pronounce it then drops into flash card mode so you can practice all you want.

Manage your courses from the main menu at the top of the Home screen (☰) available in the Learn tab. This menu gives you access to your Library to access different levels or languages. This is also where you go to get set up on Alexa (Amazon Echo compatible devices), see a list of users on your account, reset your password, or report a problem directly to customer service.  Privacy and Legal documents, activation settings and a variety of tools can be accessed from the Help section in this menu.

 

How does the 7-day Free Trial Work?

The 7-day Free Trial gives you access to all available lessons in one language. You can try as many lessons and features as you like during this 7-day period. You will not be charged during the free trial period.

TO AVOID BEING CHARGED, YOU MUST CANCEL YOUR SUBSCRIPTION BEFORE THE END OF YOUR FREE TRIAL PERIOD. YOUR SUBSCRIPTION WILL AUTOMATICALLY RENEW UNLESS YOU CANCEL PRIOR TO YOUR NEXT BILLING DATE. PLEASE NOTE THAT SIMPLY DELETING THE APP FROM YOUR DEVICE WILL NOT CANCEL YOUR PIMSLEUR SUBSCRIPTION. PLEASE CLICK HERE FOR INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO CANCEL.

 

Will my price change during the life of my subscription?

Your price may change over the life of your subscription for a couple of reasons. First, some subscriptions might have low price introductory offers. In that case, we will indicate to you at the time of purchase where an introductory price is being offered, as well as the price that will apply to renewals following the expiration of the introductory price. 

Additionally, Pimsleur may in the future increase the price for some or all subscriptions. For subscribers who purchased through Pimsleur.com, we will attempt to notify you in advance by email so that you can choose whether to maintain your subscription and accept the price increase upon your next renewal or to cancel your subscription. For subscribers who purchased through Apple or Google Play, we will introduce and communicate any price changes in accordance with the applicable store’s policies. 

 

Payment Options for Subscriptions

We accept the following methods of payment:

There is no surcharge for using your credit card to make purchases with Pimsleur. Please be sure to provide your exact billing address and telephone number, as they appear on your credit card statement. OTHER SUBSCRIPTION QUESTIONS

 

When do I get my course?

If you're on a mobile device, once you purchase or subscribe to your course and download the app, you can start streaming it  immediately. For the desktop version, just go to the Pimsleur.com home page and click on the Launch My Course link at the top right.
 

Where can I see my list of digital courses?

All of your courses are listed in the app Library. To access the Library in the mobile app, tap the menu icon (☰) at the top right corner, then tap Library. To access the Library in the web app on your computer, click the arrow at the top right corner, then click Library. 

If you purchased or subscribed to the course via in-app purchasing, you’ll need to go to Apple or Google Play app stores to manage your library.

 

If I have a problem with my credit card transaction or other billing issue, how can I get it resolved quickly?

If for any reason you have trouble purchasing a course, if your card is not accepted, or if there is a billing problem that needs to be resolved, please contact Pimsleur Customer Service, and we will assist you. We are committed to resolving your issue as quickly as possible.
 

Will my account be automatically billed for my subscription?

Yes. At the end of each subscription period (or free trial, if applicable), your Pimsleur subscription will automatically be renewed and billed for another subscription period until you contact us to cancel. For details on how to cancel, see below.

If you subscribed via in-app purchase, your billing relationship will be with Apple or Google as applicable and the payment method associated with your iTunes or Google Play account will be charged upon renewal. Please keep in mind that your subscription could renew if you don’t cancel at least 24 hours before your renewal date. Instructions on how to manage a subscription purchased through Apple or Google are below.

 

Is my subscription good for every language, or for one language that I select?

Each subscription is good for one language, and includes access to all available levels for that language. If you want access to more than one language at a time, you’ll need to subscribe to each one separately. You’ll have access to all your subscriptions in the Pimsleur app for as long as your subscriptions are current. 

 

How many lessons do I have access to with my subscription?

This varies by language, but you will have access to all the Pimsleur lessons that exist for a particular language. For most popular languages, there are 150 lessons, but at present, we only offer subscriptions for languages that have at least 60 lessons.

 

Do I need to do anything to keep my subscription once my free trial is over?

No, we ask you to provide payment information when you start your free trial. Once your free trial period is over, your subscription will start automatically, and will continue until you contact us to cancel, or if you subscribed via in-app purchase, until you cancel the subscription through Apple or Google Play as applicable.

 

Will I be charged during my free trial?

No, we do not charge you for the trial period. Your subscription will begin automatically following the end of your free trial if you do not cancel during the trial period and you will be charged for your first billing period at that time. 

 

What if I want to change my payment method for a subscription purchased on Pimsleur.com?

You can access and edit the payment information used to pay for your Pimsleur subscription at any time. Just click here and update payment.

 

If I cancel my subscription, can I still access the lessons I’ve already done?

Access to lessons is only open to active subscribers and purchasers. However, your lesson history will be saved, so if you decide to re-subscribe (and use the same account as your original subscription), your lesson history will be available. Only one free trial period is allowed per subscription.

 

When do I need to cancel my subscription?

If you purchase your subscription through Pimsleur.com, you must cancel your subscription not later than 11:59pm Eastern Time on the last day of your current billing period (or your free trial period, if applicable) in order to avoid being charged for subscription renewal.

 
If you purchase your subscription through Apple, your billing relationship will be with Apple and will be subject to Apple’s policies on cancellation timing.

 
If you purchase your subscription through Google Play, your billing relationship will be with Google and will be subject to Google Play’s policies on cancellation timing. In either case, please be aware that your subscription could renew if you don’t cancel at least 24 hours before your renewal date.

 

Does my subscription end on the day that I cancel, or at the end of my billing period?

If you cancel your Pimsleur subscription in the middle of your subscription term, the cancellation will go into effect at the end of the then-current billing period. You will be able to continue to access your lessons until then, but we cannot issue refunds or exchanges (except, for subscriptions purchased through Pimsleur.com, in accordance with the terms of Pimsleur’s 30-day Money-Back Guarantee).

If you participate in a free trial offer and cancel during your trial period, you will lose access immediately upon cancellation.

 

What if I forget to cancel before the end of the billing period?

You must cancel your subscription before it renews to avoid paying for the next subscription period.

 

I already own Level 1. Can I subscribe to just 4 levels?

The price is the same for one level or five. Once your subscription starts, you’ll have access to all the levels of a language that exist. You only need to use the levels and lessons you wish, but the subscription fee gives you access to all of them. Many people enjoy returning to earlier lessons to work on their pronunciation or review.

 

Can I use my course on multiple devices?

Yes, you can use on as many devices as you’d like as long as they are for your personal use.

Can I Purchase Instead of Subscribing?

Yes, all Pimsleur courses are available as a lifetime purchase from Pimsleur.com. When you purchase a Pimsleur course, the lessons never expire and are yours to keep. To Purchase, choose the language you want to learn here. On the next page, click on the link labeled See All Pimsleur Products, and select the course you wish to purchase.

 

Pimsleur Audio vs. Pimsleur Premium

The Pimsleur mobile app, available from the app stores, features a hands-free driving mode, and allows you to download audio lessons for offline use inside the app. It also  syncs with Amazon Echo devices using our new Pimsleur Alexa Skill, so you can easily play lessons at home as well. The web-based desktop app can be accessed from any desktop or laptop device using a recommended browser such as Chrome, Firefox, or Safari.

The Premium format adds interactive tools to help you review course content and get in deeper with the written language. The Learn tab starts you off right from the Home page as you work through your audio and Reading Lessons. Once you’ve completed each day’s lessons, you can enjoy drilling down and quizzing yourself with practice elements for every kind of learner.  Premium practice elements include: 

  • Digital Flashcards (cued in native language, or flip the script and cue yourself in the target language),
  • Quick Match quiz, lets you see structures you’ve heard and test your memory at the same time
  • Speak Easy interactive conversation transcripts to practice pronunciation, cadence and rhythm,
  • Skills categories breaks out each lesson’s sentences by topic, and lets you quiz yourself to test your progress
  • Speed Round lets you really challenge yourself on the vocabulary you’ve learned.

 

The Skills tab lets you see everything you’ve learned so far in the conversational audio lessons broken down by topics. The list of sentences you’ve “earned” will grow as you complete each day’s lessons. Add tough sentences to your Saved Vocabulary list if you want to give them some extra focus.

The Practice tab lets you work with content from all the lessons you’ve completed so far. Use the lesson selector to load individual lesson content, or select several or all completed lessons for all the flashcards, quiz items or Speed Round you can handle. Work your way through the Speak Easy conversations at your own pace.  Once you’ve finished all the audio lessons, you can load hundreds of flash cards, and you can use them as often as you like. You’ll be amazed at how quickly you’ll start responding without thinking!

The Me tab is where you can create your personal vocabulary and sentence list from Skills, flash cards or bonus cards. Use it to focus your practice, or quickly recall the phrases you need for a particular situation. Each item in the alphabetical list displays the word in your new language and lets you hear native speakers pronounce it then drops into flash card mode so you can practice all you want.

Manage your courses from the main menu at the top of the Home screen (☰) available in the Learn tab. This menu gives you access to your Library to access different levels or languages. This is also where you go to get set up on Alexa (Amazon Echo compatible devices), see a list of users on your account, reset your password, or report a problem directly to customer service.  Privacy and Legal documents, activation settings and a variety of tools can be accessed from the Help section in this menu.

 

 Does Pimsleur still sell CDs?

Yes, CDs are available for shipping in the United States. To purchase a CD, first choose the Language you want to learn here.   On the next page, click on the link labeled See All Pimsleur Products, and select the course you wish to purchase.

Flexipay Installment Plan Option

FlexiPay is a 0% APR and no interest payment plan and an easy way to divide your purchase into three low monthly payments at no extra charge. This is an installment billing plan where equal payments are made on your credit or debit card in accordance with the below schedule, rather than the whole amount being charged upfront. If you elect to pay via FlexiPay, the total purchase price plus any applicable shipping and tax will be charged in three equal installments. The first payment will be charged at the time the order is placed. Thereafter, your account will be charged by Pimsleur approximately every 30 days for the remaining number of payments with 0% APR and no interest in accordance with the following schedule:

There is no charge for standard shipping of physical (CDs and software) Pimsleur products in the contiguous U.S. Delivery to PO Boxes is only available for standard shipping within the contiguous U.S. For shipments to Alaska or Hawaii, select Express or Expedited shipping. How many words will I learn in each new course?

Depending on the language and level, each 30-lesson course will teach between 300 and 500 new vocabulary items. However, the goal of the Pimsleur programs is not to teach as many disjointed vocabulary words as possible, but to allow you to use and manipulate the language, to understand the structure, and to be able to construct your own sentences. Once you’ve got the structures down and have mastered a basic vocabulary, adding new words and structures becomes natural and easy.
