Comments about Swahili Phase 1, Unit 01-05:

I've been learning languages for years and this is the most effective. I live with a native Swahili speaker and this method has really been effective !

I use the app as instructed. I'm a bit of a perfectionist so I may do the same lesson more than one day to make sure I'm comfortable. I've been able to confidently incorporate what I've learned into conversations at home.

I'm really impressed

Draw back: it's very proper Swahili ... Nothing is wrong with that but my native speaking boyfriend tells me I speak perfectly and there are some less formal shortcuts

Comments about Swahili Phase 1, Unit 01-05:

I have heard only good things about the Pimsleur program and am very pleased. However I do not think I will order the remainder units of phase 1 of Swahalli because I just found out that Pimsleur does not offer level 11 so I can not master the language to the level I want, o become fluent therefore I will have to use another company. If there is a plan to develop a level 11 in a Swahalli please let me know.

Comments about Swahili Phase 1, Unit 01-05:

I have only used levels 1-5 so far but I am planning on purchasing the whole thing. I have used the Swahili lessons with my 12 year old daughter and we can both speak more Swahili in 5 lessons than I have in any of the other programs I have tried. Pimaleur is awesome! Sometimes it seems a little fast but you would be surprised at what you remember the second day. We do each lesson 2 days in a row just for good measure. We really love it.

Comments about Swahili Phase 1, Unit 01-05:

I had started listening to a CD of Swahili lessons in the car. That was ok, but the speaking was so fast it was hard to learn phrases. I downloaded Pimsler on my iPad and can sit in a quiet place and really focus on the clear, carefully pronounced dialogues in the lessons. I like the breakdown by syllables and the explanation of what the words mean so they can be used in phrases I make up for what I want to say.
The Pimsler technique is really great in how it brings back new words you learn throughout the subsequent dialogues. The only drawback is that the lessons move a bit slowly and can be a bit dull sometimes, but I think the benefits outweigh that.
