The Swahili Language
Swahili, or Kiswahili, the most widely-spoken African language, is a Bantu language spoken by approximately 5 million native-speakers living mainly along the East African coast from Somalia to the North Africa coastline of Madagascar. Up to an additional 150 million people speak Swahili as a second language. It is recognized as an official national language in Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania. Pimsleur's Swahili teaches Standard Swahili as spoken in and around Nairobi, Kenya.
Written Swahili uses 24 letters from the Roman alphabet, excepting C, Q, and X, and including an additional letter “CH."

Comments about Pimsleur Swahili Level 1 Lessons 1-5 MP3:

I've been learning languages for years and this is the most effective. I live with a native Swahili speaker and this method has really been effective !

I use the app as instructed. I'm a bit of a perfectionist so I may do the same lesson more than one day to make sure I'm comfortable. I've been able to confidently incorporate what I've learned into conversations at home.

      I'm really impressed

Draw back: it's very proper Swahili ... Nothing is wrong with that but my native speaking boyfriend tells me I speak perfectly and there are some less formal shortcuts
