Comments about Polish, Q&S:
I used Quick & Simple Polish prior to my recent trip to Poland as I always like to know how to say, please, thank you, do you speak English, etc. The Pimsleur CD hit basic conversational phrases on the money and the lessons enabled me to get my pronunciation right. In fact, I got several compliments on my accent when speaking my limited Polish. The Poles were very receptive to my basic use of their language and I'm sure my being able to speak and understand a little Polish greatly added to enjoying my trip.
However, I did supplement the CD with a Polish language DVD because Pimsleur focuses on speaking, so you do not see the written word, and it is good to see what the words look like, particularly the words for food, which comes in handy when attempting to reach menus.
