Description

Includes Lessons 1-8 from the Level 1 program on 4 CDs (4 hrs).

The Pimsleur® Method: the easiest, fastest way to learn a new language. Completely portable, easily downloadable, and lots of fun. You’ll be speaking and understanding in no time flat!

This course includes Lessons 1-8 from the Japanese Level 1 program - 4 hours of audio-only effective language learning with real-life spoken practice sessions. Each lesson provides 30 minutes of spoken language practice, with an introductory conversation, and new vocabulary and structures. Detailed instructions enable you to understand and participate in the conversation. Practice for vocabulary introduced in previous lessons is included in each lesson. The emphasis is on pronunciation and comprehension, and on learning to speak Japanese.

The Japanese Language
Japanese is spoken by about 130 million people, 122 million of whom are in Japan. There are also speakers in the Ryukyu Islands, Korea, Taiwan, parts of the United States, and Brazil. Japanese has many “registers” or levels of politeness. Pimsleur’s Japanese courses will teach you how to speak at a polite register, which is appropriate in virtually any situation you are likely to encounter in Japan.

    Comments about Japanese, Q&S:

Let me explain why I give three stars... First off, the product itself is amazing! and it works!... the teaching and learning methods are hard to beat if you cant haul yourself to japan for real immersion. but the lessons are packed with so much good stuff to learn that I feel like I need to do the lesson two or three times in a day before I want to move on to the next, which I expected with japanese being as different as it is from englishThe real drawback is, this product is four hours with eight lessons... its like the people in the grocery store giving out samples. If you are sampling languages and arent sure if you will stick with it, buy the eight lessons, you wont be dissapointed, but if you are, you only lost [$] so either return it, or give it to a friend. If you are set on learning japanese, dont waste your time and money on the eight sample lessons, instead, go for the full phase 1 product or better yet, the three phase bundle if you have the means to do so
