Why Pimsleur?
• Quick + Easy – Only 30 minutes a day.
• Portable + Flexible – Core lessons can be done anytime, anywhere, and easily fit into your busy life.
• Proven Method – Works when other methods fail.
• Self-Paced – Go fast or go slow – it’s up to you.
• Based in Science – Developed using proven research on memory and learning.
• Cost-effective – Less expensive than classes or immersion, and features all native speakers.
• Genius – Triggers your brain’s natural aptitude to learn.
• Works for everyone – Recommended for ages 13 and above.

With Unlimited mobile, you learn fast as you roam free.

Still only 30 minutes a day, Pimsleur Unlimited is completely portable, and audio lessons are hands-free; you can do them in the car, at the gym, or while out for a walk. Lessons sync across devices, so while you’re free to ramble, the app keeps your language learning firmly on track.

Digital flash cards and the Quick Match interactive phrase game provide listening and reading practice and review, and Speak Easy conversations help you to engage with the language. They pull you into the culture, fixing rhythm and intonation in your mind, and helping you to develop a near-native accent.

Every course is painstakingly crafted to highlight and explore the culture where your new language is spoken. Pimsleur Unlimited features high-res photos with light bulb captions that delight and inform, and covering everything from art and architecture, to festivals, history, vivid landscapes, and cultural curiosities.

What You’ll Learn
In the first 10 lessons, you’ll cover the basics: saying hello, asking for or giving information, scheduling a meal or a meeting, asking for or giving basic directions, and much more. You’ll be able to handle minimum courtesy requirements, understand much of what you hear, and be understood at a beginning level, but with near-native pronunciation skills.

In the next 10 lessons, you’ll build on what you’ve learned. Expand your menu, increase your scheduling abilities from general to specific, start to deal with currency and exchanging money, refine your conversations and add over a hundred new vocabulary items. You’ll understand more of what you hear, and be able to participate with speech that is smoother and more confident.

In the final 10 lessons, you’ll be speaking and understanding at an intermediate level. In this phase, more directions are given in the target language, which moves your learning to a whole new plane. Lessons include shopping, visiting friends, going to a restaurant, plans for the evening, car trips, and talking about family. You’ll be able to speak comfortably about things that happened in the past and make plans for the future.

Twenty reading lessons are included to provide you with an introduction to reading. These lessons are designed to teach you to sound out words with the correct pronunciation and accent.

Learning the sound of each letter alone and in culturally distinct combinations allows your brain to process what you’re hearing in the audio lessons from a new and different perspective. It’s a powerful combination that makes Pimsleur different from every other method on the market.

Review on Your Terms
Reinforce what you’ve learned quickly and effectively with flash cards. Created to help you practice the most-essential vocabulary, the cards contain words and short phrases from the daily audio lessons. The Quick Match interactive phrase game will help you to challenge yourself with longer phrases and sentences in a fun and fast-paced way. Brush up, or dive deep — it’s all up to you.

Expand Your Horizons. Reconnect with Your Heritage. Travel with Confidence.
Experience language learning like never before. Pimsleur Unlimited: easy, engaging, and fun.

The Italian Language
Italian is the official language of Italy and San Marino, and one of the official languages of Switzerland, Croatia, and Slovenia. Italian is spoken by about 58 million people in Italy, 24,000 in San Marino, 840,000 in Switzerland, another million in other European countries, and approximately 5 million in North and South America. Historically, Italian is a daughter language of Latin. Italian uses the Roman alphabet and the pronunciation of the language follows the spelling very closely.

Comments about Pimsleur Italian Level 1 Unlimited Software:

I just started Italian and, as I suspected, I'm learning very quickly. I used the Japanese product last year and after completing only 12 lessons I was able to muddle through during our trip. It was a last minute plan so I didn't have much time to study. I like the Italian product because, once I complete the Audio lesson, I can review using the written language which will help me learn to read Italian. (Small disclaimer; I was quasi-fluent in French 20 years ago and have a very basic understanding of conversational Spanish from living in California and working in agriculture with Mexican farmworkers. There are many similarities between these three languages.)

Comments about Pimsleur Italian Level 1 Unlimited Software:

The program is very well thought out and easy to understand . If I had only one complaint it would be that there is no accompanying booklet for the first lessons only after lesson number nine . It would greatly help when you're learning a new language to have this booklet for the beginning lessons so that you could look back and see the words in a book to make sure that you understand what exactly the person or persons are saying . Otherwise I would highly recommend this product .

Comments about Pimsleur Italian Level 1 Unlimited Software:

I am getting ready for a second trip to Italy, 10 years after my first one; I did Pimsleur then as well but I am brushing up again, since I (unfortunately did not keep up). I took French in school through 5th year. A few years later, I went to France and it took me more than two weeks before I could actually understand what my friends were saying, unless the spoke very slowly. When I went to Italy after working on Pimsleur Italian while I drove my car around for 3 months, although my vocab wasn't huge, I could understand and be understood right from the start!

Comments about Pimsleur Italian Level 1 Unlimited Software:

I am enjoying learning to speak Italian through the Pimsleur method. For me, it seems to mimic conceptually the way a child learns to speak -- through listening, trying to formulate correct phrases, receiving correction, and then repeating correctly. I look forward to daily lessons and find myself practicing phrases to myself during the day, looking forward to more learning each night. I feel accomplished. I can see that this will just be basics, but I'll feel at least a little more accomplished and at ease when I travel to Italy this summer. I've never tried a computer-based learning product before, so I can't compare this approach to others. Perhaps some people would miss the games and bells and whistles. So, I don't know what all I might be missing from other approaches. But what I can say is that I am learning and enjoying myself. I find the approach effective for myself.

Comments about Pimsleur Italian Level 1 Unlimited Software:

I'm going to Italy for a wedding in June. I only have time to get acquainted with Italian, so I only ordered Level One.

I'm really enjoying the lessons so it's not hard to stick with the program. And I seem to be retaining most of what I've learned.

I'm using the same program on two different computers. The program evidently can't track my progress over both computers. The lessons completed on one computer only show complete on that same computer but not the other.
