Comments about French Phase 3, Unit 11-15:

I am using Pimsleur to pick up where my French tutor left off several years ago. I had had appox. 2hrs of study per week over a 3-yr period, but with plenty of practical experience while living in a French-speaking country. When I found out about Pimsleur and tried it, I started with Level 2, which was the perfect place. Now I'm mid-way through Level 3 and my French is markedly improved. One thing that is so great is the pricing. I've been buying and downloading the 5-lesson MP3 files, copy them to CD and listen to them during my long commutes to work -- the same lesson going home from work that I listen to on the way in. I find that this reinforces what I've heard, and often clarifies pronunciations. The second thing is that I am not tied to a computer to learn, but if I wanted to, I could use my laptop or desktop, so I have max flexibility. On the down-side (and maybe I've just missed something), I'd like a standard overview that describes the levels and what to expect. For example, within the 3 levels, when can I expect to have associated filed for learning to read an pronounce what I've read. This is important since, especially with French, they seem oftentimes not to pronounce 80% of the letters in a word.
