Excellent guide to the pronunciation of a language full of sounds we don't have in English. I felt like o sounded like a native!

Comments about Dutch Phase 1, Unit 01-05:

I wanted to know a little Dutch prior to a visit in the Netherlands. Since I know German, I can read a lot of Dutch with a little practice on the vocabulary conversion, so I was mainly interested in pronunciation and simple spoken sentences. The pronunciation is quite difficult, especially the diphthongs and word endings, and in the lessons I studied the audio was not as clear as it could have been and the difficult sounds could have been emphasized more. Comparing this to the Turkish lessons, or to the Ojibwe, the Dutch is less helpful.

Comments about Dutch Phase 1, Unit 01-05:

This course is more than worth the money. Within 24 hours of arriving in Amsterdam, I asked directions to an airline office, made hotel and travel arrangements, and even filled a prescription in Dutch. The course itself is quite effective, but it also gave me the confidence to jump in there and mix it up with locals with my new, but basic language skills. This course is an exceptional value.
