    Comments about Czech, Conversational:

I am a retired high school world language teacher. In my past life I've taught English, German, Spanish, and French--mostly French. Now free to travel, I picked up Pimsleur Czech because I feel that being at least a little familiar with the language will help me to appreciate our trip to Prague this summer.
This is the most effective language learning method--at least for the initial stages of language acquisitio--that I have encountered. It builds locutions from the end of the word or phrase, repeats profusely, and constantly recombines the material. My retention is surprising. I had to abandon the project for a few weeks, but was able to jump right back in as if I'd never had a break.
Because Czech is so different from any other language I know, I occasionally have recourse to my little guide to Czech to confirm the pronunciation of words I cannot visualize or imagine in any other way. Perhaps a list of the printed vocabulary, without transliteration, would be helpful. A reading component in which basic informational signs are interpreted would also be helpful. Otherwise, this is an admirable method.

    Comments about Czech, Conversational:

I like that the CDs could be listened to in my car and that they were 30 minutes each. My drive to work is only 15 minutes so I could do one lesson a day and repeat it the next day if I needed to. I was able to complete 16 lessons before my trip. I wish they had more nouns that were covered, as the topics on the CDs were very limited and I could say so few things, but I said it with really great pronunciation from listening to the tapes. The down side of that is that people thought I knew more than I did.
