Even for a very difficult language, Pimsleur wins!

Comments about Pimsleur Arabic (Egyptian) Level 1 Lessons 1-5 MP3:

Overall, the Pimsleur method remains my favorite way to gain familiarity and skill with a new language. There are two things that work against Egyptian Arabic..1) I did Castilian Spanish first, which for an English speaker is a much easier jump. Arabic has SO many sounds that simply aren't used in English...1)the cultural differences more formal approach, which I imagine stems from a desire to help ward off social missteps, make Arabic even more off-putting. I hope that improves as I move deeper into the program. Friends who are Egyptian keep telling me "Nobody talks like that", but the good news is that they can tell what I'm trying to say!

I would buy this course again.

I'm almost done with this course and every lesson I completed, my Indian friends are impressed with my progress. It's so much better than spending thousands of dollars on the language school.
