Comments about Thai, Conversational:
I have used Pimsleurs to learn many times before. This makes my 4th language. I have tried everything else and nothing is as easy and effective as your product. It is worth every penny. The only reason it only got four and not five stars is that it could explain sentence structure a little more and not leave it to the user to decipher the placement of the words in the sentence as much. All in all it is a wonderful learning tool. Thank you
Pros
- Easy to use
- Perfects Accent
Cons
- Only Beginner Level
Best Uses
- Family background/Heritage
- Self-improvement
Comments about Thai, Conversational:
I am married to a Thai but she's a horrible teacher. I have finished 27 of 30 lessons and feel I'm not that far along. I have studied it carefully and methodically over 2 years (not 10 days he he) It works well by giving me a great basis for the language but it only scratches the surface. Just wish there was a follow up. A Thai 2 or Thai 3.
Pros
- It Works
Cons
- Time commitment
Best Uses
- Self-improvement
Comments about Thai, Conversational:
I am onto the 5th lesson so far and the method really works. I am actually learning to speak thai! I will stick with the complete series of Cds and likely buy the advanced set once I am finished with the first set. Thanks pimsleur!

Comments about Thai, Conversational:
I started the Thai course in preparation for a trip to Thailand and possible work stay next year. I have used the Pimsleur Japanese so was familiar with the technique. I have been listening to the Thai CDs while driving which isn't the best for road safety! I've had to shut off the CD to focus on driving. So I'm going through the CDs relatively slowly but more thoroughly. If you have the time and luxury to use the CDs as recommended (1/2 hour at a time AT HOME) then I'm sure you will progress faster than I do.
