I went thru all 30 lessons before I took a trip to Sweden. I was actually able to go into a small store and buy things without speaking any English. It helped with road signs as well.
While I couldn't really carry on a full conversation I did get along better since I knew some Swedish. And the Swedes were very impressed that I actually tried to learn it. By the way, EVERYONE in Sweden speaks English.

I listen to this in my car, and it is wonderful. I wish they had more levels to offer. Having the proper accent when speaking Swedish is difficult, but this program really helps with that.

This is the 5th language I've learned using Pimsleurs programs. As usual, the program did a great job of demonstrating proper pronounciation and general tourist usage. My Swedish relatives were really impressed with my pronounciation, lack of accent and broad range of phrases.
