The emphasis is on pronunciation and comprehension, and on learning to speak Swahili. Reading Lessons begin in Unit 11 and provide you with an introduction to reading Swahili. These lessons are designed to teach you to sound out words with correct pronunciation and accent. A Reading Booklet to be used with the audio lessons is also included in PDF format.

    Comments about Swahili Phase 1, Unit 11-15:

    The dialogues are good for building comprehension especially. Vocabulary build a bit slowly and they can be a bit too repetitive, but Pimsler is great for "hands free" practice while driving and so on.
