I recently completed Spanish phases 1-4 inclusive. I'm 65 and lived in Mexico many years ago and have studied Spanish before. This course was much easier to use than any of the others I have taken and I found that on reviewing my retention was excellent. I did the software course and would recommended it as the exercises were very helpful. I'm more of a visual learner so seeing and hearing the words definitely facilitated learning. There were some glitches in the software, but apparently these are being corrected as the course has been updated a few times since I purchased it. I did a lot of the course when I was driving. However,I only had it on when I was on the open road in cruise control. After going through the audio lessons one or two times I always followed the audio portion with all the software exercises. The course is a little costly,
but I feel it is worth the cost and have recommended it to several people.

the lessons start off well but soon the overall problem of the approach becomes evident: it is not obvious how the spoken word is in writing i.e. a written compendium is essential to include. Also the conjugation of verbs should be explained, while they are being used. The P-approach may be useful for those who do not understand the structure of languages and learn them by just listening to them. Also th ereading book is useless as it lacks any explanations or translations.

Comments about Spanish Phases 1-2:
Bought 1-2 Spanish. Love it. Thirty minute lessons. Have made it through half. I listen/speak in the mornings, and sometimes will repeat in the evenings. I thought it moved too quick at first, but you need that to actually start to converse with others! Just like anything, if you want to succeed you need to put in a little effort. Wish I would have bought this and P90x years ago!!!! lol... I can not say enough good things...in any language!!!

Comments about Spanish Phases 1-2:
This has a been a very helpful tool in my Spanish studies. I highly recommend it for those starting out in or those looking to improve on there pronunciation. I've tried several audio programs and find this to be the most cohesive and effective. My routine was to listen to one 30 min lesson each day. I repeat that lesson the following days until "mastered", 3 to 5 days on each lesson. I'm often told that my pronunciation/accent is like that of a native Spanish speaker. (I've had similar results with Pimsleur Brazilian Portuguese.)
My complaint is that there isn't more. Now that I'm speaking Spanish at an intermediate level, I wish Pimsleur offered more intermediate and advanced lessons.
Service and delivery comments:
