Description
Includes 30 lessons and reading instruction (16 hours) as MP3 download, plus PDF user's guide and reading booklet
Spanish is the official language of Spain and 21 Latin American countries, and is an official language of the U.N. Pimsleur's Spanish teaches an educated Latin American Spanish, with speakers from Colombia and Argentina in levels I-III, and from Mexico in level IV.
The Pimsleur® Method is scientifically proven to be your fastest route to nearnative fluency. Spanish Phase 3 includes another 15 hours of spoken language practice and one additional hour of reading instruction, and is designed to be used after completion of Phases 1 and 2.
- The beginning 10 lessons of Phase 3 offer you the chance to expand your vocabulary and increase your fluency to an even higher level. You’ll gain experience participating in many informal and some formal discussions on practical, social, and semiprofessional topics. You’ll skillfully form longer, more complex sentences, and most importantly, you’ll find yourself being understood, even by native speakers unused to dealing with foreigners. You’ll be able to join in conversations effortlessly, confident of being understood.
- In the next 10 lessons of Phase 3 your skills will show everincreasing mastery of the language. Speaking with grace and complete naturalness, you’ll enjoy fluid conversations on many new subjects. Delving deeper into cultural norms and situations, you’ll find yourself responding effortlessly, and able to choose from a wide accumulation of vocabulary and structures.
- In the final 10 lessons of Phase 3, you’re nearing fluency with agile responses, and a naturalsounding, nearnative accent. You’re able to utilize the language in subtle ways, and speak using past, present, and future tenses. Selfconfidence soars as you experience the language and culture; no longer as a foreigner, but with a deepening insight into an expanding new world.
Reading Lessons are included at the end of Unit 30. These lessons, which total about one hour, are designed to give you practice reading Spanish and to provide vocabulary. Before you know it, you’ll be reading Spanish with the ease and flexibility of a native speaker. A Reading Booklet to be used with the audio lessons is also included in PDF format.

Comments about Spanish Phase 3, Units 1-30:
As I started learning Spanish, I was reluctant to buy Pimsleur because it is not cheap. However, I am so glad I bought it! It is the only Spanish learning tool that I have enjoyed and I think it has helped me dramatically improve my conversation ability. I think it is best to start Pimsleur after you have studied and read the basics. I listen to it when I work out at the gym and as I drive to work. Great product!

Comments about Spanish Phase 3, Units 1-30:
The thing that's great about Pimsleur is that I'm able to learn on the go, I mostly like listening and learning while taking walks either in the mornings or afternoons.
Focusing on the most common words and building on each lesson, I was already able to apply my Spanish in a real life situation as a translator one day for a Spanish lady looking to get hired for work and I was only in the middle of Spanish 2 at that point, granted my ability was limited and the translation only lasted for 5 minutes or so, it was still rewarding to know I could help someone after only 1 and 1/2 units of Spanish under my belt.
Now that I'm on Spanish 3, I'm more confident speaking the language to native speakers, ordering food in restaurants, etc.
I am also using Mandarin as well in tandem with Spanish, I am on unit 1 lesson 11 as I write this review and all the words learned so far have stuck in my head and I'm starting to be able to listen and understand the conversations between the native speakers. My brain seems to have made separate files for each language as I feel that there is no problem going back and forth learning both with Pimsleur. I'll be continuing with Pimsleur for a long time to come.
Service and delivery comments:
Perhaps make a Latin coarse as well, even though a dead language, there are many who actually speak it and connect with others who have the same passion for Latin online. Even if it consists of just 2 units of 30 lessons each and stops there, I believe it would be a huge seller, I know I would be in line to buy

Comments about Spanish Phase 3, Units 1-30:
I have a strong desire to learn Spanish, some 50 years after my high school Spanish. The Pimsleur program together with an internet translation website is really working well for me. I am able to remember my early learning, am learning good pronounciation, and quickly developing the ability to understand Spanish conversation. This product's approach to helping memory seems to really work for me.
Service and delivery comments:
Instructions say not to use other learning devices. But I want to see what the new words look like, so try to find them on a translation website, which often gives other versions first. The combination of several listening sessions plus an early view of the written vocabulary really work for me. Thus it would be easier if this product provided the vocabulary list of new words for each lesson.

Comments about Spanish Phase 3, Units 1-30:
I use this at work, speaking to people who have little to no English ability. I can communicate easily using complex phrases. My Spanish patients are always happy to see that I am learning new things to communicate every day. The vocabulary is a little too focused on business. I am tired of engineers and meetings. However I do love how I am learning idioms and complex grammatical structures.

Comments about Spanish Phase 3, Units 1-30:
I started in Jan 2012, with the Spanish Phase 1 downloads, as a total beginner. I've got a busy schedule, and I've done nothing else to learn Spanish besides just listening and speaking the lessons while I make breakfast and do dishes in the morning. I hook my iPhone up to my radio/CD player and turn the volume up. And because I have the lessons on my iPhone, I can also listen to the lessons with my ear buds when I travel or if I go out walking.
I've spent about 6 months on each phase, listening to each lesson about 3-5 times. I probably average about 5-6 days a week that I listen to the lessons.
I plan to finish Phases 3 and 4 this year. I'll need to research how I can keep progressing with the language after that, since Pimsleur only goes up to Phase 4. Next year I plan to add another language and take 2 years to learn it.
The only downside to the audio only is that sometimes I'm not sure if the speaker is saying, for example, a "V" or a "D". When I encounter those situations, I look the word up on the internet to see what the spelling is and that helps me visualize the word. I am primarily a visual learner, so I need that bit of extra info.
All in all, I'm very happy with the program and highly recommend it to anyone who doesn't have time to learn a language!
