The format of this program provides an easy, effective way of getting Spanish sounding like Spanish and not "Spanglish." Words and word particles are repeated at random, along with complete sentences, so that review mechanisms accompany new learning--an excellent, scientific method of tackling a new language. One con: I wish the speaking could be just a tad slower, or the option given to slow it down until the student is ready for the breakneck speed with which Spanish is spoken.

I purchased Spanish I and loaded the files on my iPhone. Now when I am in my car, I put it on and amazingly I am beginning to understand and speak Spanish. I am actually enjoying the process and try it out on a daily basis with many of the spanish speaking people I run into on a daily basis.

I really wanted to become fluent in Spanish and came across the Pimsleur CDs about 2 years ago. The speakers are clear and the repetition is great...not annoying like other programs tend to be. The dialog goes smoothly and you begin to understand the words and conversation quickly. I like the first CD set so much that I purchased the three others; six months later I was able to hold a conversation with native speakers.

I listen to the lessons in my car. I drive a lot, 25,000 miles per year. Listening to the lessons makes good use of my time in the car.

When I travel to Mexico (once or twice a year) I frequently am asked how I learned to speak spanish. I say listening and repeating a thirty minute lesson as I drive in my car.
