Russian language teacher Zlata Karlova (rian.ru) who is in no way affiliated with Pimsleur stated in one of her videos you must learn with your ears and not with your eyes. Upon that recommendation I purchased the Pimsleur mp3 files. It is a very effective way to learn because you remember the words like you would remember a song. However there is no magic to learning a language. Even with Pimsleur, it still takes hours of study every week or more. Learning one word a day can be challenging. You need almost 3,000 words to be conversational. There is no easy quick way to a new language but Pimsleur is as good as it gets.
