Comments about Chinese (Man) Phases 1-3:

The Mandarin (chinese) language course has been invaluable to myself; it arrived promptly, and a few weeks later, the full course (12 CDs) followed. I am amazed by the ease of which, I am picking up on, and SPEAKING, the Chinese dialect.
I can enter a Chinese carryout, and enjoy a simple dialogue with them, in native tongue, and both of us have a pleasant exchange. HIGHLY RECOMENDED..nothing but good things, to say about the course.

I learn Chinese with pimsleur and very happy with the results. I combine private classes and audio course and think that this is the best way to learn new language.
Next year I plan to pass pimsleur course for arabic first and next continue with a teacher.
Audio course is easy and I like this most of all.

Comments about Chinese (Man) Phases 1-3:

Pimsleur is great if you are starting from scratch (like me). The software is effective, especially for learning the basics of conversation and sentence structure, and introduces you to much of the basic vocabulary you would really need for a visit to China. I am currently studying with a number of chinese students, and after completing half of the first phase, I am able to converse with them at a very basic level. Note that the software teaches you to speak in the Beijing dialect.

Comments about Chinese (Man) Phases 1-3:

Traditional classroom language courses have good structure and vocabulary, but offer only a handful of opportunities to speak/practice. This program makes you practice constantly throughout each lesson. I love that part. It also teaches grammar and expressions effectively. My criticisms are that it sometimes uses Mandarin instructions randomly after the first 10 lessons in place of English instructions. It also focuses a little too much on dating conversation.

Comments about Chinese (Man) Phases 1-3:

I work in China a lot and listen to the lessons walking to work from the hotel each morning. I have been able in a short amount of time to start using Mandarin phrases which has really impressed people at work who see my level of interest. I have received multiple comments that my pronunciation is authentic, which is one of the selling points of the software. This program is ideal for the traveler to China and won't teach me the language to use in a business meeting, but I wasn't expecting that. I am quite pleased with the purchase (which was reimbursed by my company).
