Comments about Chinese (Mandarin), Conversational:
This program provided the words and phrases a traveler would need most in navigating the country. I know that the method is based on the way learning works. In other words, 1/2 hour at a time maximizes the time spent, reviewing new words occurs at the correct intervals to maximize learning. This is the 10th Pimsleur program I have purchased for myself. I continue to buy Pimsleur language learning materials because they are so intelligently engineered.
Service and delivery comments:
I would have liked to know the word for "toilet." That is an absolutely critical word to know when traveling in a foreign country. I can think of nothing else that I would consider mandatory in the first 16 lessons that was omitted from this program.

Comments about Chinese (Mandarin), Conversational:
I bought this program about a month ago and I couldn't be happier. I'm spending about two weeks on each lesson instead of the suggested "one new lesson each day". I practice the lesson every night before I go to sleep, and first thing in the morning (the lessons are 1/2 hour). I just follow along, so easy to do. Now, I'm speaking simple Mandarin to people from China & Taiwan and they can't believe how perfect my tone is - the look on their faces!!! So, if you spend one hour each day, you'll be speaking fast. It's so easy, skip a TV show at night and wake up 1/2 hour earlier in the morning. This is not a fancy program, this is a program that works. And it gets funner every day!

Comments about Chinese (Mandarin), Conversational:
I listen to the CD's while driving from one city to another. I like that I get to repeat the words after I hear the sound and can connet it to a specific situation. At times I have difficulty hearing the sound correctly but I am not sure whether it's the product or just my hearing. So far, I am enjoying it.
