    Comments about Italian I-II:

I listen every night in my car driving home from work. Takes my mind off stuff and I am learning. I really like the method. I remember more than I ever thought I would. very pleased.
However, I had to pay for shipping. It says above shipping was free!!! Can I be reimbursed?

    Learning Italian the easy way

    Comments about Italian Phases 1-2:

I use Pimsler while driving in my car. I've downloaded the program to my IPhone and it is so convenient to use, I have to go over the chapter more than once before I move on but I feel I am grasping the language as well as some grammar. I would like to see how some of the words are spelled especially the alley in Phase 1. I still don't have that word right. I keep plugging away and will continue to study until I am fluent.

      Comments about Italian Phases 1-2:

My wife and I are using the Italian Phase 1 & 2. We progress on the recommended daily progression. We are at very different levels at understanding Italian words and grammar but we have found it very useful to us doing it together because it focus on a weak spot for both of us and that is listening to and speaking Italian. We both have some to a lot of foundation in Italian grammar so it was a surprise that it met both of our needs perfectly. It also helps us help each other practice between lessons. We both highly recommend it to create and improve fluency in both listening and reading Italian.

      Comments about Italian Phases 1-2:

Pimsleur's selling point is that they teach you a language organically and through conversation, which is how we learn our first language. I think they succeed at this as closely as anyone could. Pimsleur is a lot of fun, and the words "stick" because you learn them in context and recall them in context.

I have completed Phases I and II of Italian. I fly to Italy tomorrow, and I am curious and excited to see how much I can put to use. Am I totally fluent? No way. Will I be able to say a lot of things? Absolutely. Will I be able to understand native Italians? Probably somewhat. Would I be totally fluent if I continue with the next two phases? Probably!

I also love that the program is all audio. This is because I can do the sessions in the car during my commute. A visual element might be appropriate, since seeing and identifying objects visually IS part of an organic learning process.

      Other concerns:
People have talked before about wanting written scripts along with the lessons. I do think sometimes it is better to just focus on speakin and hearing, but when I have looked up a word from the course, it has helped me understand the pronunctiation.

Also, I don't feel as prepared for my Italian vacation as I think I could have been after two full phases, (60 lessons). There will be some elements of travel that I may not understand. After two phases, I will be able to tell the hotel staff the doings and ages if my nonexistent adult children, but I will not be able to tell them that there is a puke stain on my pillow. Perhaps there should be more context-relevant courses available, such as Italian I for business, for travel, for dating, etc.

      Service and delivery comments:

Make it more relevant to what I am doing. Offer a course geared toward vacation travel. Provide written scripts for the actual lessons rather than reading lessons of random words. Include more listening practice in the target language, ie, more prompts and questions in the target language.

      Comments about Italian Phases 1-2:

I am using this product after about 8 years of finishing a 2 year course on the Italian language. The pace is very good with a lot of repition and reminders. However, I wish there was a written log of the words being used in the lessons because the sound does not always make the words clear.
