I bought these CD's because I am on a project with coworkers from Italy. I thought it would be fun to try my hand at Italian so I could respond with basic phrases. I listen to these while driving to work and the absence of a visual representation of the words has not hindered me. I have some basic knowledge of Spanish so I think that has been helpful since the phonetics are similar. I have finished the first 3 CD's thus far and am enjoying them. The disks are easy to use, the pace is reasonable, and there is a lot of repetition to reinforce the lesson.

Interesting to use. Liked the speed at which the language is taught. Just got back from Italy and, unfortunately, I didn't order wine or beer, so the program really didn't help that much. Was disappointed that the 16 sessions only addressed ordering wine and beer, and meeting people at their homes or in restaurants. It was just a part of a larger program and I wasn't aware of that when I purchased it.

I have used this product mostly in the car, and sometimes on my home computer. I feel confident in the material that has been presented in the first 8 lessons that I have completed. The pace is good for me, but might be fast for someone who does not already speak another romance language.
I would like to have a written glossary for consultation, as I am not entirely certain what I'm saying looks like on the page, and that will be important when I am in country next month.
Service and delivery comments:
I would like a glossary.
Also, how to say "we" and not just "I" (the first 8 lessons have been only first and second person singular). I will not be traveling by myself and I will likely be speaking/interpreting for my group, so a plural case would be helpful.
In general, I find the quality and pacing to be excellent and I will recommend the program to friends and colleagues.

I like to travel and before I go to a country, I want to familiarize myself with the language. I have gotten: Irish, Farsi, several levels of Greek all the levels of German from Pimsleur. I learned Spanish and Vietnamese elsewhere. I found the Pimsleur method easy to learn and I have been able to have brief conversations with strangers in the countries I visited.

This is a painless way to go. Won't help much with reading but you'll be functional going to a new place in a month or two if you listen most days. I listen to all of them twice and some three times.
It is strange and amusing that some very easy words or phrases are repeated many many times....like "luna" for 1 o'clock. Other more difficult words or phrases are not repeated at all or only once.
