Comments about Hungarian Phase 1, Unit 11-15:
This was my first experience with the Hungarian language, and I can't think of a better way to start. Hearing native speakers is invaluable in starting a new language, and it makes all further study much easier. I would actually do each lesson twice, just to get things to stick that much more. Once I had a handle on pronunciation and reading, I started using other sources while going back and redoing lessons regularly. One thing keeping this from being a 5-star review is the lack of explanation behind word order, verb tenses, and just grammar in general. I understand the Pimsleur method is such that you don't get bogged down with boring grammar, but I think that once are comfortable with a bit of speaking, reading, and phrases, there should start to be some more detail into why you're saying things the way you are. For this grammatical side of the language, I had to turn to other sources. So like I said, this was a great way to start learning Hungarian, especially when used consistently and with other sources as you progress. And one last side note: I recently met a native Hungarian, and she says I don't have any accent at all! Highly recommended product!
