Comments about Haitian Creole Phase 1, Unit 26-30:

I bought Haitian Creole in 5 lesson increments as I wanted to "earn" the next set of lessons each time. I have been going to Haiti for over 20 years so I was somewhat familiar with the language, but was very pleased with the entire Pimsleur method. This method really seemed to gel with or perhaps help create my desired method of learning a new language. The native speakers (a man and a woman) were extremely helpful as they would sometimes say things slightly differently which, ironically, brought a comfort level in my pronunciation of the words being spoken. I think I would have given it a 5 star rating, but I felt the written lessons could have been much more extensive and I felt shortchanged with only 30 lessons in Creole as opposed to the 90 offered in the more popular languages.

      Service and delivery comments:

I would highly recommend expanding Haitian Creole from 30 to 90 lessons as you have in most of the major languages of the world and I would gladly purchase the remaining 60 lessons. I would also recommend expanding the written component and to hide/reveal the definition somewhere within that at some point as well. I would also explore somehow unlocking new material if someone goes through the entire course a 2nd or 3rd time as I'm doing to keep it vital and introducing new language learning opportunities with each pass through.

Comments about Haitian Creole Phase 1, Unit 26-30:

I bought the first lessons on Cd and the last three sets for download on my phone. Great program. I liked the way each lesson built on previous lessons, and 30 minutes a day was very doable. I liked that the learning was not rote but asked the student to respond using what they had already heard or learned in fresh ways, which made me more confident about "real" conversations. I liked the reading lessons as they helped me see how the words are written and how easy it is to read them. I know how to read texts now and though I don't know all the words, I can often guess what they mean, especially with my Pimsleur foundation and the French which I learned in school. I can easily use a dictionary and phrase book with meaning. The 30 minute a day lessons really stuck in my head and I also used the CDs for extra practice while driving.

Comments about Haitian Creole Phase 1, Unit 26-30:

This introductory course to Haitian Kreyol is really good. I have completed the course and it has helped me immessurably. I travel often to Haiti doing volunteer work and it keeps my mind and tongue in shape between trips. I recommend this to anyone who finds that they need to hear the language to be able to better understand Haitians, while in country..
