Comments about German Phase 1, Units 1-30:

Learning for travel, the only issue is the reading material doesn't sync with the audio chapters. Also the speaker introduces some new words without an explanation of the definition. I have to cross reference another translation program to make the complete translation. However I will purchase the next set of chapters.

All in all it's a great educational program.

Comments about German Phase 1, Units 1-30:

I'm loving how the program distributes practice of previously learned items over time.

Also, rather than memorizing rote items (vocabulary, numbers, letters, etc) I began using these items in conversational contexts right away.

I have a PhD in Instructional Design and this approach to language learning is an excellent example of effective instruction. Definitely worth the money. Wish I had purchased this program four years ago to use during my commutes to and from work.

The short amount of response time requires me to think on my feet, but sometimes it arrives a little too fast!

My only concern is the app - it's slow to respond to play/pause touches and other navigation. It also deletes the lessons without me knowing and I have to re-download before I can begin a new lesson. Strange.

Comments about German Phase 1, Units 1-30:

Pimsleur is light years ahead of its competitors, in terms of being able to speak fluently in the target language during and after the program. If I could give you more stars on your rating chart, I would love to. Thank you, pimsleur.

Comments about German Phase 1, Units 1-30:

I have been impressed with the skillful sequencing of German I, not too much introduced at once with review inserted along the way. I now have lots of useful phrases, some basic understanding of word order, grammar and some basic vocabulary. I really like being able to listen carefully to both a male and female speaker as I practice pronunciation. I also like that I have my Pimsleur program on my computer, ipod and ipad so that I can practice under many circumstances including sitting at home, driving and traveling. I'm looking forward to German II.

        Service and delivery comments:

It would be great to have a group with whom to practice speaking German who are at a similar level led by someone who knows German well. This could be a gathering of locals or perhaps an on-line video classroom.

Comments about German Phase 1, Units 1-30:

Pimsleur German I has been a great resource for learning a new language. I have about a 40 minute commute to work in which I am able to complete one lesson each day. The pace is on par with learning and the repetition allows the material to "stick" easily.
