Comments about German Phase 1, Unit 11-15:

Other attempts to review German, which I studied in school many years ago, haven't lasted long because of boredom with using old text books. This has been perfect for focusing on speaking, which was my weak spot, with the grammar all coming back to me as soon as I hear it.

Comments about German Phase 1, Unit 11-15:

I used Pimsleur Unit 1, up to about lesson 15 since I was planning on living in Austria for 4 months. I sure wish I had purchased the whole Unit, and took the time to get through them all, because what I did use was very helpful in being able to be understood here. I did not do the whole unit because I didn't have anyone to practice with, but I should have, becuase I think it would have come back to me nicely if I would have just reviewed them once in Austria.
I am very impressed with this approach and highly recommend it.

Comments about German Phase 1, Unit 11-15:

I am working through these with my teenage son, who has had one year of high school German. I studied German in college and after but haven't used it in years so am refreshing. We listen to one lesson every couple of days, and my son reviews on his own. He also has a high school textbook for new vocabulary and grammar. We use the Pimsleur MP3 downloads, which we have on our laptops and an ipod we can play in the car.

I really like the active format of the lessons; you have to listen, think, and formulate sentences, not simply repeat what the teacher says. There's immediate feedback that you can repeat if you missed something, or just to improve pronunciation.

I also like the way the pronunciation of new sounds is introduced and reinforced. My son's pronunciation has improved markedly over the past couple of months.
