I have used French 1-3 and, most recently French 4, units 1-10. The Pimsleur method works well for me. My goal is to become fluent, beyond the usual tourist scenarios. I feel more vocabulary and grammatical concepts could be introduced, i.e. future tense, imperfect and passé composé and when to use each.
My major disappointment is that there are no further modules. I want to do more, using the Pimsleur method.

I am only on lesson 5, but so far, Level 4 is a disappointment. Most of the dialogue involves book publishing, author's rights, issues about translations of novels, etc. Really! Who cares about that?! It has very little practical value for me as a tourist or even as a conversationalist. Levels 1-3 were much better in preparing one for normal conversations in French. We would be much better served, I believe if this level emphasized more situations involving travel, dining, shopping, or general conversation with acquaintances. If I had known the content of Level 4, I would not have spent the money.
