Comments about French Phase 1, Unit 26-30:
I just returned from my first trip to France. Prior to leaving, I reviewed all 30 of the Phase 1 lessons. Although quite limited, I was able to speak enough necessary French when required. Also, I was also able to hear words that I learned while listening to French conversations. I will keep working on new lessons and review the old ones in hopes of building and improving my French vocabulary.

Comments about French Phase 1, Unit 26-30:
I have cousins in France who do not speak English. I wish I had some Pimsleur under the belt two years ago when I went to see them. I plan on going back. My cousins and I exchange e-mails and more and more I am able to read what they write without a tranlation program. I can pick up more as I listen to French radio stations I have not found anything I didn't like. Stick with the first few lessons. The repitition makes it a little boring, but its very necessary. There will be less of that as you go along. I only wish there was a program on the Basque language as that is where my cousins live. If I had the time, I would learn as many languages as I could. Thanks Pimsleur

Comments about French Phase 1, Unit 26-30:
I'm trying to become fluent in a 2nd language. I downloaded the lessons, burnt them to CDs, and listen to them during my commute. The native speakers employed are excellent especially in developing correct enunciation. Without supporting written materials, the oral lessons are challenging. Understanding phrase laisons and grammar construction demand acute listening and problem solving. My primary suggestion would be to link the accompanying reading lessons to the actual oral lessons. The reading lessons use phrases and vocabulary that are not linked but independent of the oral lessons.

Comments about French Phase 1, Unit 26-30:
I practiced listening and speaking with the French lessons 1-30, about 30 minutes per day, and randonly reviewed various lessons, depending on which CD I happened to have in the car. I just returned from a 15-day tour of France with several other women. I had fun making my nervous attempts to speak with the natives. Many times, the French person had only limited English, and together we switched back and forth between the languages, laughing at ourselves and helping each other. Also, due to my hours of speaking practice with the lessons, I was able to "find my voice" even though I would naturally feel shy and tongue-tied in a foreign place. My new skills came in handy for our group as we traveled about. I picked up skill and confidence, and have continued to practice with Pimsleur since my return...hey, maybe I can go back some day! I received compliments on my accurate pronunciation, which is directly attributable to the Pimsleur auditory approach. I like the ability to download a few lessons at a time, for not much money, so I could proceed at my own pace. I had studied French in school, but never had confidence to form my own sentences until now. Also, about 2 years ago, I studied Italian with Pimsleur, with the same great results, even though I only took a few lessons before traveling in Italy. I highly recommend Pimsleur for whatever language you choose. You just need to commit your time, a little each day.
