The Pimsleur Conversational Dari is one of the fastest and quickest ways to lean the language in a very useful format, most effective I tried yet. You can listen and learn while driving to work, very convienient. I have nothing bad to say about it.

Longer reflection times between prompts and responses would be helpful,especially to older learners. Neglecting visual and written modalities limit the learning style inventories of learners. As a language educator myself, I feel the sequencing and structural choices are valid, but the limitation of input to strictly audio, even for conversational language, is limited and limiting. It flies in the face of the last 20 years of language and brain science research.

This is amazing, i picked up the free Dari level 1 mp3 course, and i am amazed. After 30 minutes i could repeat, and understand everything the dialouge told me.

I used the Play Away version of the Conversational Dari program during a recent deploymnent and was amazed by how much I was able to pick up in a short period of time. The thirty minute sessions made it easy to fit into a busy work schedule as well as making the lessons ideal for use during a daily run. I would definitely recommend the program for anyone traveling to area in order to obtain some basic familiarity and confidence in the language.
