Comments about Pimsleur Danish Phase 1, Units 1-10:
This is an excellent introduction to the Danish language. I use these lessons in the car on the way to work in the morning (how many times can you listen to the same old songs anyway?) and it WORKS! The instructors are giving you new words at just the right speed, and asking you to recall things just before you forget thiem so that it is seared into your memory. After awhile you really are thinking in Danish! This is the second language I have studied using Pimsleur courses, you cant go wrong. You will learn more from theese 10 lessons than you will reading 10 entire books on Danish language! I have some cousins in Denmark that I speak to every now and again on the phone, and they were amazed at how good my pronounciation was. The only negative thing I can say is that I wish there were more lessons. My Danish is pretty limited yet because there are only theese 10 lessons availible. They need to hurry up and make a full 30 lesson Danish course, at least! I can tell you that by the time you finish an entire 30 lesson course (like I did with German 1) you will have a pretty good grasp on the fundamentals of the language and will be able to expand on your own with the help of a dictionary.
