I used the program before a recent visit to the Czech Republic. In Prague, everyone speaks English, but for those traveling outside the capital, some basic survival Czech is useful. As with all of the level-one Pimsleur courses, you'll get what you need to be polite and find out what you need to know in an efficient, effective, easy-to-use format.

Vacation took me to Prague for a few days. I didn't know a single word of czech before purchasing czech 1 a month before going to Prague and I didn't use any other books/products. I was very happy with the course and my abilities to converse with locals. It also saved me some $ by speaking czech to cab drivers and such the prices instantly came down. I also liked the reading portion as I was able to pronounce a lot of words(like on menus) even if I didn't know the meaning.
The only downside for me was the content seemed designed more for slightly older people on business. As someone in my 20s I would have liked more content geared towards social scenes for younger people.
Overall I am a huge fan and recommend this product.
