My wife is Czech and we just got back from a visit to the family in Plzen. They were impressed at the advances I have made with the language. I was never able to move forward with conventional methods. I bought the Pimsleur Czech mp3 and listen in my car to and from work. We are so busy that I never get the chance to read text books. Now with the combination of books and audio it keeps me more engaged.

This was a great way to learn. It is also a great way to keep motivated. My mother in law was so excited she started sending me e-mails as soon as we returned to the States. Good thing for on-line translators. I'm not that advanced yet.

I have started trying to read and speak with my wife at breakfast. Hopefully I can progress more before the next visit.

Please let me know if something more advanced becomes available.

I finished the course and I learned a lot. The main drawback is that many of the new words and phrases are spoken too rapidly. The Czech sound system is quite complex, so the native speakers really need to slow down when introducing new words and phrases. With the help of a separate phrase book and a lot of repetiion, I was able to figure out most of the phrases.

Comments about Czech Phase 1, Units 1-30:

I'm using the Czech course in preparation for a trip to Prague. The Pimsleur method is great. The Czech course is one of the more difficult ones, I think, mainly because of the pronunciation. It seems to me that some relatively easy-to-pronounce words (such as the one for "with you") are practiced more than necessary, while some really difficult ones ("Wenceslas Square" and "four" are two that come to mind) are not practiced enough. But on the whole I have no complaints.

Comments about Czech Phase 1, Units 1-30:

Because of my busy schedule, I use Pimsleur in the car, and it's amazing how much I have learned! The gradual addition of new information to the words and sentences already covered is what helped me most! Please produce Czech Phase 2!

Comments about Czech Phase 1, Units 1-30:

I'm learning Czech? Yes for an upcoming vacation. Product is great, not at all monotonous or boring. I start lesson 27 today and funny as it may sound I can't wait to get to the end. If traveling in the future I will use your programs for other languages. Very happy with the product.

Comments about Czech Phase 1, Units 1-30:

Very impressed with the product. Speakers reply a little fast. But breakdown and repetitions of the words and phrases are great. Each new lesson gives a great review of previous lessons. I have begun to use a speech recognition program to check my pronounciation and it is right on. I would recommend
