Comments about Armenian (East) Phase 1, Units 1-10:

the pimsleur language-learning approach is the most effective and practical i've ever encountered. by focusing on speaking it helps me communicate in everyday situation. Though unlike traditional courses that focus on grammar, it helps me understand armenian grammar and sentence structure through actually speaking the language.

being able to use the language in real-life situation further motivates me to dig deeper and spend more time in learning the alphabets and other aspects of the language.

i look forward to the release of Armenian (East) Phase 2 in the near future.

        Comments about Armenian (Eastern), Compact:

I honestly feel that this is for me the optimal way to learn a language. There were 10 lessons in my package and every morning on my way to work I listened to one. I learned the material and enjoyed the process. I wish there were additional lessons available.

          Comments about Armenian (Eastern), Compact:

Have begun the lessons. Great at delivering correct pronunciation. I do find that delivery by only oral transmission is a bit difficult for me. I might benefit from also seeing the printed words, and referring to a 'crib sheet' for reinforcement at times when it is not feasible to use the CD.

Comments about Armenian (East) Phase 1, Units 1-10:

I listened to the audio in the car. The sounds of Armenian were challenging and there were frustrating moments, but the more I listened, the more familiar the sounds became. I listened to the units several times before continuing to the next. I only got through 5 units, but was able to carry on rudimentary conversations. My attempts to communicate were met with tremendous enthusiasm in Armenia. One of the exciting aspects of the audio program is that it introduces names of places that you actually come across in the country. Even though during the learning process it seems like a waste of time to learn a street name, it is rewarding to realize the street is in fact a major thoroughfare and has already become a familiar location through the audio program. I had a similar experience with Norwegian, and that is the reason I came back to Pimsleur for the Armenian course.
